God is Love note cards

I've got another inspirational card set using the one-sheet-wonder method (see this template). The double-sided scrapbook paper is from Hot off the Press. The stamped sentiments are from Stampin' Up! and the card bases are by DCWV. The mats, circles and hand cut banners are cut from DCWV cardstock. Again, my 2" Marvy punch came in handy on these cards!

God Bless You note card set

It's back to basics with these one-sheet-wonder cards! These cuts are from the original way shown in this template. The double sided scrapbook paper from Hot off the Press makes a bold statement on these inspirational cards. The stamped sentiments are from Stampin' Up! and the card bases are by The Paper Studio. The mats and circles are from my stash (possibly Bazzill or DCWV). My 2" Marvy punch came in handy on these cards!

Disney's Princess Tiana Layout featuring CTMH Flip flaps

I've got lots of pics for you today featuring Disney's Princess Tiana, whom we met at Magic Kingdom in 2011. This moment was like magic for me even more than it was for my daughter. It was a dream come true to have an African-American princess to call my very own!

With few materials I created a dynamic layout I will treasure for a lifetime! The grid paper is from Mosaic Moments, square punch from Marvy, The Princess Tiana paper, Title and stickers are by EK Success and the extra added drama was created with Close To My Heart (CTMH) Flip flaps.

The photos were taken by Disney photographers and I applied frames etc. on the Disney site.

I placed the chipboard title on the oustide of the flip flap so there would be no pulling and bunching.

Here's the layout altogether with the flip flap closed and then with it open to show my journaling. The Tiana's Garden Glen sign was a picture I took and printed 4x6. I then cut it out and used it to embellish my journaling.

Thanks for stopping by!

Have Yourself A Very Mousy Christmas! Disney, Mosaic Moments, Simple Stories

I'm back with another 2 page layout using Mosaic Moments dies and grid cardstock. Have you heard that my absolute favorite pattern right now is chevron??? I had to make a Disney layout using this pattern from the 6x6 pad of patterned cardstock Say Cheese by Simple Stories. Besides the Christmas parade pics the star of the show is the beautiful title by Paper Wizard. The picture squares were cut from a Marvy punch.

All the cardstock is from Say Cheese. I created the middle element from the 12x12 cardstock page with different pattern strips on it. In addition I added the chevron border sticker under the text. The more chevron the better! The photos are matted on newsprint style cardstock from the collection.

And finally, the black embellishments are from Queen and Company. They are flocked domes like I have never seem before. I thought they made a difference in the overall look of the layout. Here's one last look!

It's a Boy! Shaker Card

Shaker cards are all the rage and I thought I'd try my hand at some simple ones using supplies from Die Cuts with A View (DCWV), Martha Stewart, Marvy, Impression Obsession, Darcie's, Jolee's, Bazzill, Marvy, Recollections and Memento.

The shaker windows are self-adhesive, very shallow and easy to use. It accommodates a small punched square for the background. The sentiment is from Recollections. I then punched a scalloped square and punched a square out of the middle to create a frame. This frame covered the edges of the shaker window for a neat and clean card front. The windows are filled with iridescent shaped glitter from Martha Stewart. It looks like tiny sequins.

The sentiments are from Darcie's. They are the cutest baby sentiments I've seen in a long time. Thanks for stopping by!

What is the simplest, yet most complicated looking stamping trick? Check this out!

What is the simplest, yet most complicated looking stamping trick? Pull out your rubber stamps and Marvy brush markers to create a masterpiece in seconds! I used stamps by The Local King and Impression Obsession. Isn't it gorgeous?

To achieve this look I used glossy cardstock, colored directly on the rubber stamp with 2 shades of each color (light then dark), huffed and stamped. That's it!! It looks like I took great time and detail to make the look but it was a 60 second deal....if that! Then with a very light color, I stamped the branches background stamp over the image of the bird and flowers.  Pink and blue is one of my favorite color combos for cards.

The base card is from Stampin' Up! and the layer is from my stash. The card's focal point is accented with burlap ribbon from The Paper Studio, Cuttlebug embossing inked with Hero Arts neon ink and pearls from Recollections. The sentiment is an encouraging one from Dylusions.

Please let me know if you have tried this technique or will in the future.

Day 4 (of 12) Days of Christmas - 3 Wisemen

It's day four of the Honeybearz Designs Annual 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!!

I will continue to post a new project daily (for a total of 12 days) along with many talented bloggers and guest designers.

This card was totally inspired by Kristina Werner. She has a holiday card series every year.
I think I've watched all of her holiday YouTube videos.
Anyhoo, she's great! Take a peek at her distress ink blended background here.

 Supplies:

·       Stampendous – Nativity Christmas
·       My Pink Stamper – Biggie Christmas
·       AAW/PrintWorks Collection – Thank God for his Son
·       Stampendous – Fran’s Mixed Media White Paper
·       Core’dinations – cardmaker series: pearls – heavy weight champagne cardstock
·       Versafine onyx black ink
·       Tim Holtz Grid blocks
·       Stampendous detail white opaque embossing powder
·       VersaMark
·       Stampin’ Up! Embossing buddy
·       Uniball Signo broad white pen
·       DCWV The Twinkle Glints Stack
·       The Paper Cut – white text inserts
·       Marvy brush marker – black

·       Copic – 100 black, .5 multiliner black
Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black soot, seedless preserves, chipped sapphire, victorian velvet, antique linen, large and mini ink blending tools

I really enjoyed blending these inks to create a nighttime background for my 3 wise men theme. When it was wet it looked splotchy but as it air-dried it got smoother and more blended. The sentiments are perfect from AAW Printworks and My Pink Stamper. There's no better feeling than drumming up the courage to make something new inspired by professional online crafters. Oh what a feeling? Ya know?
