Glow in the Dark Custom Ornament

My daughter's teacher sent home a note asking a parent to volunteer to plan and lead the Christmas party craft and although I had already signed up for Valentine's Day, I volunteered because my daughter really wanted me to and I've spoiled the children with past projects. None of the other parents are into crafting like I am so the projects I create for them are in high demand. It's very nice to be recognized and wanted!

So this is the project I created after polling my crafty friends on Facebook and trolling Pinterest. It's a glow in the dark ornament using Stampin' Up! treat cups, ribbon, twine, embellishments, Martha Stewart glow in the dark glitter, jingle bells, 2.5" cardstock circles cut with my Cricut.

The children enjoyed making these ornaments. The embellishments varied from Gingerbread men, houses, Reindeer, Ornaments, etc. But as always, they wore me out. I always think I am designing something simple, but never remember that all families are not into crafting like we are. My daughter can complete projects better than some adults. Needles to say, there were some catastrophes, spills, touch and go moments and McGiver fixes. With 23 kids to appease and one of me, it was a challenge and a joy. Although I am the hardest worker of the day, I'm going to TRY to simplify for Vday!! LOL

Well, I'd love to hear from you. Have you gotten crafty this holiday season? What did you make? Did you volunteer? And of course, how do you like this (simple) project?

Merry Christmas!!!

Easter treat for the Hunt

Each year my mom's group Mocha Moms Lehigh Valley hosts an Easter Egg hunt for our children. Since I am the President, I wanted to make an extra special treat for each child. I used the Cricut Seasonal Cartridge Easter to create the eggs. I used plain cardstock from my stash (Martha Stewart I think) and used Die Cuts With a View Nana's Nursery (for boys) paper stack and their glitter paper stack. I love that DCWV glitter stack because the glitter is trapped in the cardstock and will not prinkle out everywhere as you cut and handle it!! LOVELY!! I cut mirror images of the eggs so that they would line up by using the flip button on my Cricut Expression machine. LOVE MY CRICUT!!

Ok, so I used ribbon from my stash. The most specatacular part of this design is the treat cup from Stampin Up!. I also used one of their stamps. The treat cups are adhesive and I filled them with Jolly Rancher Jelly Beans - which are only available during the Easter season. YUM! get some today!

Halloween Treat For MMLV/ Cricut Circle wkly Challenge #4

My mom's group had a wonderful outing with the kids at the Crayloa Factory. I made this treat for the children (super fast) just before I left. I used stampin up! sweet treat cups, halloween printed paper, black shimmer paper and orange card stock from my stash. The only cricut cart used was wild card. The card and the card liner were cut at 2.75 inches, the web at 2.5 and the spider at 2. Brach's candy corn from target. I wrote happy halloween with zig millenium black pen, my favorite pens for journaling etc.
