Hunting was the theme... but I love the sentiment I put together using 2 stamps.

Supplies:
  • The Paper Studio - card base, patterned paper
  • layers - Bazzill, DCWV
  • Stamps - Clear and Simple Stamps, Stampin' Up!
  • Memento Ink

  • Spectrum Noir
  • The Stamps of Life
  • Hero Arts Neon ink
  • Elizabeth Crafts microfine glitter (warm diamond)
  • card base We R Memory Keepers - inked rose
  • Provo Craft patterned paper
  • Recollections bling
  • blue sequins from my stash

Bereavement Card featuring DCWV and Elizabeth Crafts

I love this floral outline image from Elizabeth Crafts. I created my own glitter paper using white cardstock, warm diamond glitter and Sookwang tape. The Copic-colored focal was mounted on black cardstock from Recollections and adhered t the left side of the card base.

The square, gate fold card base is from American Crafts (I think...) and the patterned layer is from Die Cuts With A View - Far East stack. Both sentiments, stamped in Versafine onyx black ink, are from The Stamps of Life.

Masculine Get Well Card

When I heard one of my online crafty friends DH was hospitalized and in need of some cheering up, I offered to send a handmade card. Get Well cards for men (or any card for men) is not my strong point. So I decided to take the pressure off and create something my style and just to have fun with it.  Here's what I came up with.

The A2 woodgrain base is from The Olde Town Market box of cards by The Paper Studio. I then layered scraps of cardstock from my stash. The script one is by Prima Marketing and the other... I don't remember!

My almost 10-year-old daughter helped me choose the gear stamps. I kept chanting... "I need something....MANLY!" In my best, deep, loud superhero voice and she kept me on track.

I tried to use Pinterest for inspiration but I have not pinned many masculine crafts yet and they all seem to have unrelated images with sayings. Why is that? I kept thinking I need something manly but not cutesy and it SO hard to do both with the right sentiment.

Normally I would use an umbrella image with this sentiment but I didn't feel it was manly enough. I'll be working on getting the manly cards right this year.

Supplies:

  • The Olde Town Market box of cards - The Paper Studio
  • Script cardstock - Prima Marketing
  • Yellow cardstock - stash (DCWV?)
  • We R Memory Keepers - Sweetheart inkers - black
  • Inside sentiment - "On the mend" The Stamps of Life
  • Gear, clock and screw stamps - "Get it in Gear" Technique Tuesday
  • External sentiment - "Umbrella4You" The Stamps of Life
  • Tim Holtz Distress ink - frayed burlap
  • Tsukineko - Versafine: Onxy Black
  • Scotch ATG
  • Ranger Multi-matte medium
  • Woodgrain sequins - studio calico
Inquiring minds want to know! How easy/hard it is for you to make manly cards. I'm also looking for tips/advice on how to keep my cards MANLY!! Hit me with your best tip/trick please? Inquiring minds want to know!

Please share my posts on social media. Thanks!

True story!! I am addicted to outline stickers. I have a stack at least 5 inches high and this is the first project I have made since I started collecting them so long ago. I bought them specifically to create my own glitter paper and to shade with Copics.

A few notes - Copics nibs can be ruined by glitter so I lay (dab) on the color with the side of the brush tip rather than coloring the nornal way. I also keep a colorless blender just for glitter. The blender really does blend as well as erase when used with glitter.

I also collect embossing folders. These three had never been used before for projects. Let's not even talk about how long I have been collecting dies and just started using them. I hoard...

These elements came together like butter! The more intense part was coloring and shading. I just love these ladies! It's rare but I only got one of these sheets. I try to get at least 2 because mistakes do happen...

Here's a close up of each an the internal sentiments I used. All the related info is included in the supply list. But feel free to leave me questions in the comments section if you'd like to know more.

Day 5 (of 12) Days of Christmas - Snowy Postcard

It's day five of the Honeybearz Designs Annual 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!!

I love the look of those glittery scenes on card fronts. I thought I'd try my hand at creating one using a focal stamp from Stampendous. While the scene is stamped in blue memento ink, the magic is in the glitter!

Using a quickie fine point glue pen I strategically added adhesive to the card front. Then I sprinkled on micro-fine glitter. While it takes quite a while to do so, the result is well-worth it! Look at this sparkle and shine.

Supplies:

·       Stampendous – Snowy Postcard –
        Bahama blue memento ink
Stampendous Fran’s Mixed Media White Paper
·       The Paper Cut  - blue mirricard cardstock, white text inserts
·       Sookwang double-sided adhesive
·       Adhesive holographic paper - stash
·       Recollections – 110lb white cardstock
·       The Stamps of Life - Extra4lights
·       Tim Holtz grid blocks
·       Scotch ATG
        Micro-fine transparent glitter
        Quickie glue pen

DCWV and Prima Doll 4th Grade Back to School Layout

Today I completed a scrapbook layout of my daughter's first day of school. I was inspired by a Page Maps sketch, a Julie Nutting Prima Dolls stamp and the Die Cuts With A View (DCWV) Edumacation Stack.

Here's the Prima Doll Copic-colored and styled to match my daughter's American Girl outfit; which in turn matches the outfit her American Girl doll Cecile is wearing.

And here's the whole layout.

Supplies:
  • DCWV - The timeless type stack, The Edumacation Stack
  • Julie Nutting Prima Doll stamp
  • Stamps of Life - branches4flowers
  • Tim Holtz Grid Blocks
  • Copics - 0, 100, C: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9   E: 13, 15
  • Xyron sticker maker 1" and 2.5"
  • Memento ink - Tangelo, Tuxedo Black, Bahama Blue, Bamboo Leaves
  • Copic Mutliliners - 0.3 black, 0.5 red, 0.5 blue
  • Copic X-press it blending card
  • Scotch ATG
  • Sharpie extra-fine point metallic gold paint pen
  • Martha Stewart scallop dot punch
  • Reminisce Making the Grade - 4th grade and Kindergarten dimensional stickers
  • Mary Engelbreit Scrapbook Stickers by Creative Imaginations - apples, School Days
  • American Crafts Thickers - Paperback patterned fabric letters stickers
  • Scrapbook Page Maps by Becky Fleck - 12x12 layout: 4 photo sketch

The first page features 4 patterns of cardstock from DCWV Edumacation stack and a collage of stickers from Creative Imaginations and Reminisce to create a striking title.

The second scrapbook page shows my daughter alongside the Prima Doll and her American Girl doll.     To mimic the tulle flowers on her skirt, I stamped a tiny flower image from The Stamps of Life onto the Prima Doll's skirt. An extra-fine point Sharpie metallic gold paint pen was used to create the necklace.

This is my daughter's last year of elementary school so it's an important year for her. Big girl on campus so to speak... she has many clubs and activities that are now available to her. And this is the first year she can play an instrument. She has chosen the clarinet. I will definitely document all these experiences.

I hope to you enjoyed this presentation! I'd love to hear what you think of my work. Thanks so much!
