You're My Hero

It's Day 7 of my new obsession - the one sheet wonder (OSW)!! Here's the template I used to make this year's Father's Day cards. Every day thru June 21st (Father's Day in the USA), I'll share my OSW creations.

I pulled out an oldie but goodie - my random edge scissors. I thought it brought a certain amount of interest to the design. And of course three stamps created the most awesome heartfelt card.

Supplies:
  • The Paper Studio - card base, patterned paper
  • Layers - Bazzill, DCWV
  • Stamps - Stampin' Up!, TPC Studio, My Pink Stamper
  • Fiskars - decorative scissors
  • Memento Ink

Celebrate Life Cancer Survivor Card

It all started with a window die cut card base from Purple Daisy Designs, Copicsstamps from Rubber Cottage and My Pink Stamper and of course outline stickers from Elizabeth Crafts! I'm so addicted!!! I dream about outline stickers. LOL! The result was a unique encouragement card for a breast cancer survivor.

Who doesn't want to open their window and see a beautiful rose garden? I love the combo of fonts and the interactive card front.

Inside these purple roses are meant to symbolize hope and peace. I create the glitter cardstock it's created on with Elizabeth crafts warm diamond glitter, white cardstock and sookwang double sided adhesive.

What Cancer Cannot Do - Encouragement card

I created some Cancer encouragement cards lately. This one features Cancer Awareness Anya from The Greeting Farm colored with Copics. It also showcases a stamp set from Rubber Cottage.  The base card is from We R Memory Keepers Inked Rose.

When I bought the Lifestyle Crafts genius platform it came with a set of nesting dies as a bonus. I used two of the dies to cut the focal and pink the mat behind it. Although it's hard to see in these pics,  Anya is stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento ink and I used glossy accents on the pink ribbon on her dress. To highlight her eyes I colored with Signo Uniball white pen.

I love this sentiment from Rubber Cottage. Both the stamp on the outside of the card and the poem on the inside. The pink ribbon is from the Hope and Courage set by My Pink Stamper. The ink is neon pink from Hero Arts - love it!

Thanks for stopping by! It felt good to color again. What are you coloring this weekend?

Encouragement Card featuring Elizabeth Crafts Outline Stickers and Dylusions

She is the belle of the ball! It's an Elizabeth Crafts outline sticker colored with Copics! The card base and white layer are from Recollections and boy am I finding uses for those scraps. I heard odd numbers were great for cards to I put 7 sequins on this beauty. I am pretty sure "believe" is a stamp from My Pink stamper and the inside sentiment is from Dylusions. Love it!!

I created an ombre look on her dress with a popped up center portion of the bodice. Elizabeth Crafts provides optional layering elements to create dimension. I also attempted to give her two-toned hair. Do you like it?

Today I was inspired to the MAX by Kristina Werner! She created a fab Christmas card that I needed to try my hand at. Check out her version here on YouTube and here on her blog.

I chose to make two versions using a digital stamp by Mo Manning – Little Elf Pipa and background stamps from Impression Obsession and Mowenta. Unlike Kristina, I fussy cut the digi and adhered it to the card front.

This was one of those labors of love that consumed me day and night. I am glad I spent the time on it. I made many mistakes like forgetting to prep the surface, ill stamping, heating the embossing powder too long but I still love the results. These are my fav cards of the hop.

Supplies:

·       digital stamp by Mo Manning – Little Elf Pipa
·       Epson WP-4530 Inkjet Printer
·       Stampendous – Fran’s Mixed Media White Paper
·       Tim Holtz Distress Ink – stormy sky, chipped sapphire, black soot, mini ink blending tools
·       Mowenta – background stamp (Christmas)
·       Impression Obsession – Christmas Text
·       Memento Luxe ink – Danube Blue
·       Wink of Stella – clear, white, blue, green, silver
·       Copics – 0, 110, Skin: E11, 13, 15, 18 R32 Outfit: R20, 24, 29, Shadow C3
·       Xyron 510
·       Ranger Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder – clear
·       Nicole Heat tool, Versamarker
·       Stampin’ Up! Embossing Buddy
·       Flower soft - polar white and Flower soft glue
·       Adhesive holographic paper – stash
·       My Pink Stamper – Biggie Christmas
·       Clear and Simple Stamps – Limited Edition: Joy
·       Worldwin – Doublemates cardstock: Glorious Green

·       Lawn Fawn – lawn ornaments – mixed sequins

Which do you like best?????

mowenta

I am obsessed with two things... the sentiment by Clear and Simple Stamps is the words of the PHENOMENAL Maya Angelou and Memento Luxe ink – Danube Blue. You've got to get this ink! It comes in many colors and is just so rich, vibrant and yummy! It almost looks neon on these cards on top of the distress ink.

Day 6 (of 12) Days of Christmas - Winter Fairy

It's day six of the Honeybearz Designs Annual 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!!

I will continue to post a new project daily (for a total of 12 days) along with many talented bloggers and guest designers.

What's in it for you? Well... boundless inspiration, generous craft companies/sponsors and giveaways galore!

As far as Copics are concerned, red is the hardest color to blend but I never back down from a challenge! Nooooo. I learned the best tip from Kristina Werner who uses brown as the darkest color when blending red. That was ALL I needed! It was 'on and poppin' after that! I have been blending red like a pro ever since.

This card features a stamp called winter fairy from The Rubber Cafe. I have been collecting images to color long before I knew how to shade with Copics and I am overjoyed I have the skills now to create to my heart's content. Believe it or not, I was actually scared, afraid, even frightened to even try coloring just a year ago.

Supplies:

·       The Rubber Café – winter fairy
·       Inkadinkado – Warm winter wishes – Peace
·       My Pink Stamper – Biggie Christmas – sentiment inside the card
·       Memento Tuxedo black ink
·       Tim Holtz Grid Blocks
·       Recollections 110 white cardstock
·       DCWV red metallic cardstock
·       Copic X-Press It blending card
·       Anna Griffin/cuttlebug embossing folder – snow flurry
·       eBosser
·       Martha Stewart Scoring Board
·       Creative Memories Guillotine, corner rounder
·       Cutterpillar pro
·       Encore ultimate metallic gold ink
·       Stampin’ Up! Gold Glory embossing powder, embossing buddy
·       Nicole Heat tool
·       American crafts gold ribbon
·       Wink of Stella - gold
·       Copics –
o   Hair – E25, 37, 29
o   Skin – E11, 13, 15
o   Shawl – Y28 and gold wink of stella pen
o   Dress – R20, 24, 29 and E18
o   Lip – Zig Clean Color brush pen – carmine red
o   Dress trim – white liquid applique

o   Highlight W1

This card is technique heavy! I dabbled in dry embossing, heat embossing, stamping, masking, Wink of Stella over Copics, Sequins, ribbon, etc. It was definitely a labor of love.

My fav gold embossing powder is by Stampin' Up! As a failsafe I stamp in Encore Ultimate Metallic gold ink to emboss (rather than VersaMark) to ensure full coverage if I miss any spots with the powder.

The finishing touch was to add liquid appliqué. Once it's heated, it puffs up and gives the appearance of fur. I tried to show you the dimension by taking several views. I hope you try this technique soon!
