Oval Edged Scallop card - Clear Scraps

I left this card unfinished so that I could personalize it at home. I already found a special someone to give it to. I love the look of the red and the floral pattern together. What synergy?! We inked the edges with Stazon ink just like you would a non-acrylic card. Stazon works well with non-pourous surfaces like this.

Here's the inside of the card.  The middle floral panel is popped up with foam tape and the stamping is planned to be sort of an optical illusion. If you stamp on the acrylic just where the ribbon passes it looks like maybe the ribbon was stamped. You'd have to wonder just how it was done. I love cards like that!

I'll tell ya what... I was truly introduced to the world of quality clear acrylic cards by Clear Scraps last month at the Creating Keepsakes Convention (CKC) Lancaster PA. It was an advanced class in card making the blew my mind! This is one of the card kits they sell in the booth. I bought several card kits to complete at a later date. FYI - the kits don't include the double-sided cardstock.

Please note: only adhesives like Beacon 3 in 1 or Zip dry truly work with acrylic cards. If you use anything else it will not adhere for a lifetime. I'd definitely take their classes again AND I'm only registering for advanced classes from now on. So worth my time and $$!

That's what I bought from the booth.  I got several of their kits, 3D stemple paint, window paint and a detailing tip for my glue. Class goers got a free gift. I picked a tag that is very thick and used for home decor. I think I might make a Christmas ornament out of it. I am thinking about joining their kit of the month club!! They sell home decor items and mini albums, shaped mini albums and much more!

Scalloped edge clear acrylic card - Clear Scraps

It's show and tell once more! This was my favorite card of the bunch. I love that these cards have hinges and can open and shut. Amazing! I added my own sentiments at home to personalize this card for a special someone.

I said it once and I'll say it again!

Here's the inside. We used 3D stemple paint by viva decor to color the vertical borders and Krylon silver paint pen to outline the card. I learned that only adhesives like Beacon 3 in 1 or Zip dry truly work with acrylic cards. If you use anything else it will not adhere for a lifetime. Pearl pens also work very well with this kind of card. I'd definitely take their classes again AND I'm only registering for advanced classes from now on. So worth my time and $$!

This card went to brighten a friend's day so I covered the private message.

Embellished Acrylic Heart Card taught by Clear Scraps

It's show and tell here at the blog! I want to hear a lot of oooh and aaahh out there?! LOL.

Look at this beauty!!

Here's the inside- YES the heart interlocks to close the card!! So exciting. They have several interlocking designs. We used 3D stemple paint by viva decor to color the heart, Krylon silver paint pens to outline the card and color the swirls. I learned that only adhesives like Beacon 3 in 1 or Zip dry truly work with acrylic cards. If you use anything else it will not adhere for a lifetime. I'd definitely take their classes again AND I'm only registering for advanced classes from now on. So worth my time and $$!
