Sandy Hook Ele. Snowflakes (post 2)

Here are some double-sided snowflakes we made for Sandy Hook Ele. in CT to help create a winter wonderland in their new school. It's a nationwide PTA project in schools and homes in support of the survivors.

The first two snowflakes are cut from Cricut Cartridge A Child's Year and DCWV Glitter cardstock. In order to make the snowflakes double sided (for hanging from the ceiling or placing in windows) I used the flip feature to make sure all the facets matched up. Even with using flip, the pieces only fit together perfectly one way. It was a challenge getting them lined up and stuck together with terrifically tacky tape and zots glue dots.

This next one is one of my favs from Damask Decor. It's a tag so it already had a nice hold for hanging in it. Although the camera angle doesn't show it well, the white cardstock and silver glitter from DCWV is brilliant.

This one cut from Designer's calendar and American Crafts foil cardstock in hot pink, looks like a hand cut snowflake like the kids make in school.

Check back for more snowflakes...

Pamper Yourself card

Here's another one of my cards that's available at a local spa. The card was cut from Cricut Cartridge Damask Decor. I love the design and fall colors.

The sentiments are from Clear and Simple stamps spa darling and another set they have with several friendship sayings. My posts will be short, sweet and to the point for a while. Switching up my style, LOL.

Just Because - You Deserve a Treat!

Since last month, I am proud to say that a set of my cards have been bought by Amare Hair Salon, a spa in my area. I get my facials there and was honored to be asked to design a series of cards for clients who come in to purchase gift cards. They also use them for client birthdays etc. The first card is from the Cricut cart Damask Decor. The stamps are from Clear and Simple Stamps - Spa Darling and Pops2Eat The Stamps of Life.

I love these Clear and Simple stamps because they bring across the whole spa feeling. I also love pairing cards from different companies to bring about just the right feeling. Kraft cardstock also gives it that natural zen feeling. I hope you enjoyed this card and the remainder of the cards this week. I cannot express the joy I am feeling for accomplishing a long-time goal.

Religious Birthday Card Set

I have lots of views of this religious birthday card set I created for a client. I just wanted you to be able to see each card type and the packaging. I used pink cardstock from Bazzill and multi-colored cardstock from DCWV. The stamped sentiments are from Stampin Up! in the set called "God's Blessings."

These cards are created with one of my favorite Cricut carts - Damask Decor. I love using pattened paper to cut the damasks. On the inside of the card you can see what one of the patterns looked like originally. It looks nice, but once the damask is cut (as seen above and below) the pattern looks spectacular.

I love most ribbon but my favorite kind right now is seam binding! It comes in a variety of colors and is very pliable. I like that I can package it and once it's unpackaged it fluffs back up just fine instead of being crushed.

Each card in the set has a different Damask design created with different cardstock. But all are stamped with the same two sentiments. My favorite of this set is in the picture above on the left. My tip is that using a spray adhesive to attach the Damask is the best way. However, it is important to have a layer of newspaper out so you can spray and immediately adhere the Damask or it will lift up because it has become repositionable. (bad bad bad!) so work diligently, cleanly and fast.

The packaging I used is a clear acrylic box that held the cards and the envelopes. I got a package of 8 from Denami Designs Rubber Stamps. They come flat and ready to fold.

Happy Birthday card - Damask Decor

Aw, you thought I was going to show another Sophie card....but I have a wonderful birthday card from Damask Decor Cricut cart today. I love this shaped card which can be fashioned for males or females. This color scheme is for someone who doesn't like all the girlie colors or for a man in your life.

Damask Decor has many square cards on it. Cutting those too large may force you to have to make your own envelopes or use large vellum ones. So watch the size. I like the 5.5" envelopes from Die Cuts With  A View and American crafts. However, both are marked at 5.5 but fit different sized cards. Word to the wize... all square envelopes are not created equally.

Cricut Circle Blogiversary Sketch challenge

This is the sketch we had to follow to enter the Cricut Circle Blogiversary sketch challenge. The project had to include 2 cricut cuts as well. Here's my entry...

I don't usually use a sketch when I work... but I thought it would be fun to turn this sketch on its side. The card is cut from bazzill cardstock using the Damask Decor Cricut cart. The flower behind the happy halloween dimensional sticker is cut from preserves (it's what's left over from cutting the cantelope...surprise!) I fussy cut (always wanted to say that on my blog...lol) the pumpkins from Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker halloween mat stack 6x6. The stickers are from recollections. The striped halloween paper has green spider paper on the back. It's from my stash. The black paper is punched with Martha Stewart punch around the page - cracks. The circles were cut from Cricut cart Wild Card (left overs from the circle card) and the patterened paper is Die Cuts With a View.

Wish me luck!

Shout out to Tammy Skinner http://www.tammyskinner.com/ who shared a way to add my branding to my photos! Thank you so much Tammy! I have been wanting to do this for a while but didn't know how until you shared... using picnik.com http://www.picnik.com/ I was able to add the name of my company and blog address to my photo in a cool font. It's free and has lots of good photo editing tools.

World Card Making Day Contest Entries

This is a quickie.... In honor of world card making day I have created 2 special cards from my fav cart of the moment damask decor!

the first is a simple A2 size note card for writing a special note to someone you love...

the second is the cupcake card. It's a square card and I made it large to fit in a square vellum envelope for added drama... the inside is stamped with a "stamps for life" stamp that says calories don't count on your birthday so eat lots of cake!

My Pink Stamper National Scrapbook Day Challenge #1

National Scrapbook Day Challenge #1 - create anything with a Cupcake
http://www.mypinkstamper.com/2011/05/national-scrapbook-day-challenge-1.html

Damask Decor is my new favorite Cricut Cartridge! There are many cards and envelopes on this cart and that's what I am crazy about right now - making cards.

This card, envelope and layers are on page 62 and are cut at 6.25" using my Cricut Expression 2. I used Bazzill basics cardstock (another fav), stickles, the Cuttlebug embossing folder - Damask Frame. I also cut the regular cupcake design to affix to the envelope for a little extra flair. The "yummy" stamp is from my stash.

Challenge #4 - MPS National Scrapbook Day

National Scrapbook Day #4 - make a mother's day themed project
http://www.mypinkstamper.com/2011/05/national-scrapbook-day-challenge-4.html

This card is made from my new favorite Cricut Cartridge Damask Decor. The card is on page 58 and was cut at 6.25" with my Cricut Expression 2. The sentiment and layers were cut from Celebrate with Flourish Cricut Lite Cartridge at 1.5". The card is made from Bazzill basics cardstock. The layer is made from patterened paper from Darcie's LLC. I love the patterned paper because it's approximately 12" x 18" long with a small white border. The stamps used on the inside of the card and from Art Gone Wild! and the ink used was Simply Blue Tiful Hybrid ink from Clear & Simple Stamps. The ribbon is from my stash. This card was used for Mother's Day cards for my friends and family.
