Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Challenge 15: Anything Goes!

It's the start of another (always) anything goes challenge at the Lil Patch of Crafty Friends challenge blog.  I hope you'll enter up to 3 entries. But guess what? You now can enter an unlimited number of other challenges! I can't wait to see what you create!

There's three sponsors for this bi-weekly challenge. They're offering some great prizes!

Faery Ink -  Prize: 3 Images

Bugaboo Stamps - Prize: 7 Images

Imagine That! Digis...by Kris - Prize: $10 Gift Certificate
************************************************************
I chose Bugaboo Stamps - Chibi Elsa to design with. Frozen has been the most epic Disney movie in recent times. I figured I could present you with a little "let it go" action - the movie's most popular song.

I've had the most trouble wrapping my head around water coloring. I have watched many videos of people enjoying the randomness and such. I have tried a few times to no avail. But I am much too regimented and don't enjoy that look.

Last week I watched a YouTube video by Jenny McGuire using a Wink of Stella clear pen instead of water on a brush to blend colored pencils. It looked easy and was more controlled. That inspired me to challenge myself to give it another try using my new set of water color pencils by Prima Marketing and Wink of Stella to color Chibi Elsa.

Wow! I really love the results. I have a way to go in terms of determining how much color and how much water etc. But I really think I have found a way to incorporate water coloring into my repertoire. The best thing I learned is to use a water brush for any skin. The shimmer from the Wink of Stella makes faces look dirty and weird.

Supplies:
  • Digital stamp - Chibi Elsa by Bugaboo Stamps
  • 5x7” card base (stash)
  • Tim Holtz - distressed water color cardstock, stormy sky distress ink
  • EZ Runner - scrapbook adhesives
  • Xyron cheetah 2 adhesive
  • layered snowflakes - La Petites by The paper Studio
  • Epoxy snowflake - Recollections
  • Fine point water brush (stash)
  • White glitter font chipboard stickers - Thickers by American crafts
  • Snowflake punch around the page - Martha Stewart
  • Wink of Stella clear brush pen
  • Snowflake patterned paper - O Christmas Tree by Recollections
  • Prima watercolor pencils - 03, 88, 89, 107, 114
  • Loew-cornell water color pencils - magenta, cerulean blue, medium blue

Trust in the Lord note card set

I know I have amazed you (and worn you out with these one sheet wonder posts)! This is the last one for a while. I made all those OSW cards (over 60 cards) at once that I have been posting. I used this template.  It's a real mojo lifter. I had no idea what to make and I needed to make things FAST. Without having to worry about the layout of the cards and pulling a lot of supplies together, I could focus on the message of the cards. I definitely suggest giving it a try for those big holidays or for making stashes of birthday cards or sympathy cards. Whatever types of cards you use a lot.

The double-sided scrapbook paper is from Hot off the Press. The stamped sentiments are from Stampin' Up! and the card bases are by DCWV. The mats and hand cut banners are cut from DCWV cardstock. I love the Martha Stewart layering punch for work like this. And there you have it! I stepped out of my box and love the CAS results!

The double-sided scrapbook paper is from Hot off the Press. The stamped sentiments are from Stampin' Up! and the card bases are by DCWV. The mats, circles and hand cut banners are cut from DCWV cardstock. Again, my 2" Marvy punch came in handy on these cards!

The mats and circles are from my stash (possibly Bazzill or DCWV). My 2" Marvy punch came in handy on these cards!

Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Challenge 13

Yay!! It's another anything goes challenge at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends! As a member of the Design Team it's my job to present the challenge to you and entice you to come join in during the next two weeks! So here's a sneak peek at my creation.

I hope you'll pop over to the blog and check out the new logos and blog design and all the talent over there from my fellow DT members. There's three great sponsors and prizes for the top 3 winners.
A Day for Daisies - Prize - $12 Gift Certificate

Bugaboo Stamps - Prize - 7 Images

Karleigh Sue -  Prize - 4 Images
*****************************************************************************************************************

It was awesome to work with the Karleigh Sue image: Adrianna's Owl. I was really inspired to create something lovely. I was showing my daughter how to blend distress ink and we created several blends. So this card started with the rainbow strip. I chose all the colors for the card based on that.

I decided to print this image on draft (economy) mode so that the outline wouldn't be dark. I plan to do this a lot more often. Although I did need to darken the eyes of the image with a copic marker, everything else was just perfect. I had so much fun coloring and creating. The Lawn Fawn die and stamp really completed the look. The circle panel is raised on the remnants of pop dots for a stable passage through the mail. Isn't she so cute!!

Supplies:
  • Karleigh Sue image: Adrianna's Owl - printed on Copic Xpress It bending card on  draft mode
  • Inkessentials pop it
  • Wink of Stella - clear pen
  • Copic markers - C5 and (see picture below)
  • Stampin' Up! - orange ribbon
  • Stampendous - Fran's mixed media paper
  • Recollections - bling and black yardstick
  • Lawn Fawn - scripty sayings stamp set, large stitched circle stackable die
  • American crafts - card base
  • Versafine black onyx ink
  • Tim Holtz distressed ink - broken china, chipped sapphire, squeezed lemonade, peacock feathers, fossilized amber

The World is Yours - Graduation Cards

Even though these one-sheet-wonder graduation cards have the same layout, the image and sentiment stamps give each it's own special flair. It was made along with the Father' day cards I created using this one-sheet-wonder template.  These graduation cards showcase stamps by Inkadinkado, Hampton Art and Close to My Heart.

The internal sentiments are quite striking while leaving plenty of room for a hand written message.

Congrats Grad - One sheet wonder

I've got a quick post and a flash back for ya! Remember the Father' day cards I created using the one-sheet-wonder? These cards were part of the set. I used some of the cards to create some country themed graduation cards. Just in case you're new to my blog, here's the template I used.

My fav parts of these cards are the the Jolee's dimensional stickers and the punched border I created using Martha Stewart's cathedral lace punch. Thanks for stopping by!

Congrats Graduate!

For the next several posts I'll share graduation cards made using (surprise!!) the one sheet wonder method. Here's the template I used. There's bullet points toward the bottom of the post showing various ways to cut the one sheet to achieve different results.

I chose to make 8 cards so I cut 8 blue layers from the one sheet of double sided 12x12 patterned. The card bases and the decorative layers and mats were extra pieces brought in to make the cards a reality. Here's the first two from the series....

The stamps are from Inkadinkado and Hampton Art. The patterned paper is from Hot off the Press, the card bases and pink layers are Die Cuts With a View (DCWV).

Sending smiles... friendship card featuring Elizabeth Crafts and Lawn Fawn

Peace and blessings to you all! Here's the last card my daughter helped me make in this series. FYI - I have plenty more projects planned for us this summer. I'll be sure to share. As always she colored the focal.  I love the sections of color she created with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. The butterfly is an Elizabeth Crafts outline sticker and the sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.

A quick tip for you - I stamped my sentiment last and it was a disaster! Some areas (dashed lines) didn't stamp well. I pulled out my secret weapon! Ok, ok it's not that secret... it's a Sakura Gelly Roll pen. I was able to find one in the same color (metallic purple) and drawn in the dashes.  And voila! You'd never know I initially made a mistake.

Additional supplies:
  • Memento ink
  • Elizabeth Crafts microfine glitter (warm diamond)
  • gray cardstock, sequins and epoxy dots (from my stash)
  • card base - We R Memory Keepers - inked rose

Thanks for stopping by!

OSW Finale - You're the Best! Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's been a blast blogging every day! I hope you caught the one sheet wonder fever. Here's the last of the cards and a look back at all of the cards. I love the rustic look of this distressed wood grain paper. Although it has a pretty pattern, it's manly enough to use for Father's Day. The ribbon stamp from Close to my Heart is the perfect pairing to complete the card front.

Here's a look back at all the cards I made with each sheet of patterned paper. Here's the template I used.

I've never made outdoorsy kinds of cards until now. This fishing paper really grew on me.

And this deer patterned paper did as well!

Thanks for hanging in there with me over the past two weeks of daily posts. I'm going back to posting every other day but will share more OSW creations. Subscribe and don't miss a thing!

Dad You Are My Sunshine

These are my fav cards of the bunch! Penny Black images are AWESOME! It's Day 12 of my new obsession - the one sheet wonder (OSW)!! I took the design factor up a notch this time. Guess I was really feeling it....LOL.

Here's the template I used to make this year's Father's Day cards. Every day until June 21st (Father's Day in the USA), I'll share my OSW creations.

I love the Elizabeth Crafts Dazzles I used for the internal sentiment on the right-hand side. The "F" was backed on cardstock to make it red in the background. I love the pop of color.

Supplies:
  • The Paper Studio - patterned paper, Card bases
  • layers - Bazzill, DCWV
  • Elizabeth crafts dazzles (sentiment)
  • Stamps - Clear and Simple Stamps, Penny Black, Stampin' Up!
