KISS - Valentine's Day Layout

KISS - Keep it Simple...well you know...

Sometimes I'm in a rush, or I've lost the scrapbooking ju-ju etc and need a quick go to layout. This particular day I needed to make a Vday layout quickly. I happened upon a small kit of Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker - Sugar Cookie Collection that I got at a scrapbook convention (CKC I believe). It included double sided cardstock in rich colors and patterns as well as coordinating die cuts, stickers and alphas. Since the pics are the stars anyway in a layout, I decided to put aside my Cricut and slap this baby together.

The only thing I didn't use from the kit were the photo mats and the vellum title (You are my everything) which as DCWV. I love it came out. The layout is for a friend's baby girl who was born healthy and happy this month!! The baby's first Valentine's Day pics will pop on this layout and be super duper cute.

Have you had a KISS moment? Tell me about it... I'm all ears!

For Your New Home

I rarely use my Cricut Imagine to print and cut regular Cricut cartridges. But this day I needed to make 2 cards in a hurry. The first was the baby card I debuted last week and this housewarming card was the second. I used the Cricut cartridge Wild Card (personal fav). I used this card as my Christmas card a few years back so I had the trees left over from then. I knew one day they would come in handy! LOL. They were cut at 1 inch with American Crafts foil cardstock.

The house and layers were print and cut from Bazzill basic white cardstock at 7.7 relative size. The card was cut using the blackout feature. Otherwise the round window would have been cut out and the door would swing open. The colors were chosen from the colors included in the Imagine machine. I added some scraps of Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker Halloween paper in the windows using herma dotto repositionable adhesive and then cut around the shapes to make it flush with the door/window. I also added a small flower brad for the door knob.

On the same page as the card was this sentiment so I filled it with red and cut it the same size (7.7 Relative). It left plenty of room for me to hand write a note and insert a gift card. I created a simple, white, size 10 envelope that is located on the same page as the card.

I am starting to get my crafting urge back so look for more posts from me in June! I plan to start scrapping my Disney trip. Lots of fun layouts ahead!!

Instant scrapbook baby boy- Hester

Anna giffin makes this paper lace (peyton collection). I thought it was befitting this layout about his first valentine's day. In my family we give our babies vday cards and they go in the keepsake box. It's a nice tradition and a way to show love. The paper lace is attached with spray adhesive to brown bazzill cardstock. The blue layer is hand cut and adorned with faux stitiching made with my zig millenium pen. The scallop square is DCWV as well. I love these chenille brads from Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker and had to add them in red to this layout. The adhesive alphabet was in my stash. Lastly, I added a journaling block 6-min scrapbooker with a 100% boy dimensional sticker. Not too girlie and gets the point across. All we need is a picture of Harrison & journaling to complete the page.

Cricut Circle Blogiversary Sketch challenge

This is the sketch we had to follow to enter the Cricut Circle Blogiversary sketch challenge. The project had to include 2 cricut cuts as well. Here's my entry...

I don't usually use a sketch when I work... but I thought it would be fun to turn this sketch on its side. The card is cut from bazzill cardstock using the Damask Decor Cricut cart. The flower behind the happy halloween dimensional sticker is cut from preserves (it's what's left over from cutting the cantelope...surprise!) I fussy cut (always wanted to say that on my blog...lol) the pumpkins from Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker halloween mat stack 6x6. The stickers are from recollections. The striped halloween paper has green spider paper on the back. It's from my stash. The black paper is punched with Martha Stewart punch around the page - cracks. The circles were cut from Cricut cart Wild Card (left overs from the circle card) and the patterened paper is Die Cuts With a View.

Wish me luck!

Shout out to Tammy Skinner http://www.tammyskinner.com/ who shared a way to add my branding to my photos! Thank you so much Tammy! I have been wanting to do this for a while but didn't know how until you shared... using picnik.com http://www.picnik.com/ I was able to add the name of my company and blog address to my photo in a cool font. It's free and has lots of good photo editing tools.

Instant Scrapbook Baby Boy - Pg 14

As continued from last time, here are the next page of the scrapbook. 2 Cute to Spook - this is my favorite layout of this whole album!!! I loved putting it together and creatively bringing the theme across. Who doesn't love a first Halloween? Seeing the little one in their first costume brings joy to all who sees it. I wanted to make sure that this page properly represents that excitement.

The fonts are a combination of Thickers (for the "2") and halloween alpha stickers from my stash. The 12x12 background paper is by GCD Studios - Spooked collection pack. The pumpkin dimensional stickers are from Reminisce "trick or treat" and the bat and dino rub ons are by Bo Bunny. The journaling block is from Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker 6x6 mini paddle "Boo-tiful". To enhance the look of the jounraling block I used the "cracks" Martha Stewart Punch.

Waste not/want not.. I added the positive punched paper from the journaling block (that would usually get thrown away) to the border strip to add to the spooky look created by Martha Stewart drippy goo punch. The Cricut cuts - bats, spiders, spider webs are from the Wild Card cart. The circles in orange and patterened paper are DCWV. Black Foam glitter bats from my stash adorn the page. Ending with a Happy Halloween dimensional sticker by recollections seemed fitting.

Instant Scrapbook Baby Boy - Pg 6

I love simple, clean layouts. Less is more in this case...

As continued from last time, here are the next page of the scrapbook. This layout will show the first meeting between the new brothers. These are my favorite male oriented sticker font. Thickers makes it and it's a leather look and feel, Although it is self-adhesive, it doesn't seem to hold on because of the thickness.

  • Nikki Sivils scrapbooker - warm cord brads - red

  • Vellum sentiment & yellow cardstock from my stash

  • patterend paper - 6-min scrapbooker baby boy

  • "Thickers" Black Vinyl stickers

  • DCWV adhesive mat stack neutrals
