Crafts Galore Encore Monthly Challenge - Make a Card

It's September and that means it's time to reveal this month's Crafts Galore Encore challenge!! This month please make a card and you'll have a chance to win 3 digis OR one digi set of your choice from our sponsor Beccy's Place.

Unfortunately a friend of mine experienced a loss in her family and I needed to make a bereavement card. I thought Beccy's Place digi Spring Magnolia would be a great place to start. So, I printed this digi at normal size on Neenah solar white cardstock and pulled out my Copics to make an A2 sized card.

I haven't colored in a couple of weeks so it was fun to try my hand at this magnolia. I especially enjoyed adding the cast shadows from the petals. I would never even have thought of doing that before taking the Copic certifications. The colors I used (pictured below) are pretty true based on the magnolia images I found on the Internet.

The cardstock is from Stampin' Up and the embossing folder is an Anna Griffin Cuttlebug called Climbing Rose. I thought it accented the colored image well. The stamped sentiment is from The Stamps of Life Sympathy4You set. Memento Tuxedo Black ink is my ink of choice these days.

Here's another look at the focal image which is raised on the card using Sticky Doos 1/8" thick adhesive foam squares by The Paper Studio. At the last min. I decided to grab my wink of stella clear pen to add some subtle shimmer to the magnolia petals. I love the result.

I hope you enjoyed this project and will join in on the challenge. Up to 3 entries per person please.

Good Luck!

La-Vie
