My daughter Zora is a proud member of the Pee Wee Cheerleaders.
I volunteered to create the spirit signs and noisemakers for the big regional cheer competition. Here's what I came up with. Each family received a sign with their daughter's name and a special cheer saying plus a decorated noisemaker. They help the parents cheer their daughter on during the competition and serve as a keepsake afterwards.
Here's my daughter's ensemble. I borrowed her pom poms for the effect! Love it!!!
The cheerleader is from the Cricut cart Everyday Paper Dolls. Her face is stamped with a clear stamp by Peachy Keen (Everyday Character assortment). I embellished her outfit and pompoms using a white American Crafts Galaxy Marker in white, my new fav opaque white pen - Uniball Signo, Zig metallic writer and Copic marker R59. The #1 hand was also cut from Everyday Paper dolls, outlined and attached using an action wobble.
The base of the sign is white chipboard by DCWV. It's covered with Plum Berry cardstock from The Paper Studio. The names were cut from Cricut Cart Opposites Attract with Bazzill Basics white cardstock for the shadow and DCWV gold metallic cardstock for the top layer.
We R Memory Keepers just came out with chevron washi tape that I love. I added a double white layer behind the clear acrylic sticker (from Creative Imaginiations/Art Warehouse) to make it pop. The finishing touches were gold sequin trim and a tongue depressor type handle.
I purchased noisemakers from Party City with many different designs on them. To create a uniform look, I traced cut and applied Oh My Vinyl! from Oh My Crafts! in maroon to each piece and adorned with dimensional stickers.
There were 10 sets in all. Each cheerleader was represented with their specific hair color and a special cheer saying.
Here's a closer look at the types of stickers I used on the noisemakers.
Everyone had a wonderful time at the competition! Parent and cheerleaders alike loved the spirit signs and noisemakers I created for them. Now, I'd better start thinking now of something bigger and better for next year!!
