Mother's Day Card featuring Clear and Simple Stamps

It's Mother's Day!! Wishing a happy and healthy day to all my mom friends around the world!!

Today I have a card for you! It's a little out of my comfort zone because of the large bold background print on the base card from Micheals. Of course it all started with the beautiful lady outline sticker from Elizabeth Crafts. I made my own glitter paper using Sookwang tape, Stampendous mixed media cardstock and warm diamond glitter. The focal is perched on a beautiful nestabilities die cut from Sizzix.

I colored the focal with black and red Copic markers and fussy cut the scene. The bow and the white section of her skirt are 3D - popped up on foam tape. The burlap ribbon from The Paper Studio seemed to break up the pattern and bring focus to the focal.

The internal sentiments are from Clear and Simple Stamps in Versafine Ink. Thanks for stopping by!

Friendship card featuring a Unique Sizzix flower die

Today's card showcases a unique Sizzix die that required me to fold back every petal for a dual color, dimensional flower. This is not my usual style, but I thought I'd try something different. I used a heavy weight cardstock called WorldWin DoubleMates. It's the perfect weight for this kind of die cut. With the addition of hotfix pearls and an adhesive center pearl, nothing  but a computer-generated sentiment was needed. I mounted everything to a speckled card from Die Cuts With a View (DCWV). The inside is blank to provide maximum writing space.

I found this die at Hobby Lobby in the clearance section last year. I didn't really understand what I did but figured I'd give it a whirl. Have you ever found a clearance gem like this and taken a chance?

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog today.

True story!! I am addicted to outline stickers. I have a stack at least 5 inches high and this is the first project I have made since I started collecting them so long ago. I bought them specifically to create my own glitter paper and to shade with Copics.

A few notes - Copics nibs can be ruined by glitter so I lay (dab) on the color with the side of the brush tip rather than coloring the nornal way. I also keep a colorless blender just for glitter. The blender really does blend as well as erase when used with glitter.

I also collect embossing folders. These three had never been used before for projects. Let's not even talk about how long I have been collecting dies and just started using them. I hoard...

These elements came together like butter! The more intense part was coloring and shading. I just love these ladies! It's rare but I only got one of these sheets. I try to get at least 2 because mistakes do happen...

Here's a close up of each an the internal sentiments I used. All the related info is included in the supply list. But feel free to leave me questions in the comments section if you'd like to know more.
