It was awesome to work with the Karleigh Sue image: Adrianna's Owl. I was really inspired to create something lovely. I was showing my daughter how to blend distress ink and we created several blends. So this card started with the rainbow strip. I chose all the colors for the card based on that.

I decided to print this image on draft (economy) mode so that the outline wouldn't be dark. I plan to do this a lot more often. Although I did need to darken the eyes of the image with a copic marker, everything else was just perfect. I had so much fun coloring and creating. The Lawn Fawn die and stamp really completed the look. The circle panel is raised on the remnants of pop dots for a stable passage through the mail. Isn't she so cute!!

Supplies:
  • Karleigh Sue image: Adrianna's Owl - printed on Copic Xpress It bending card on  draft mode
  • Inkessentials pop it
  • Wink of Stella - clear pen
  • Copic markers - C5 and (see picture below)
  • Stampin' Up! - orange ribbon
  • Stampendous - Fran's mixed media paper
  • Recollections - bling and black yardstick
  • Lawn Fawn - scripty sayings stamp set, large stitched circle stackable die
  • American crafts - card base
  • Versafine black onyx ink
  • Tim Holtz distressed ink - broken china, chipped sapphire, squeezed lemonade, peacock feathers, fossilized amber

Dad Happy Father's Day

It's Day 2 of my new obsession - the one sheet wonder (OSW)!! Here's the template I used to make this year's Father's Day cards. Every day until June 21st (Father's Day in the USA), I'll share my OSW creations.

This style requires a card base and focal layer to go with the cuts from the OSW template.  I thought stamping would be the perfect accompaniment. Using the OSW method took all the guess work out and I found myself having more fun with the supplies I have.

Supplies:
  • The Paper Studio - patterned paper
  • Card bases - DCWV
  • layers - Bazzill, DCWV
  • Stamps - outside: Stampendous, inside: Stampin' Up!
  • Memento Ink

Mother's Day Card featuring Clear and Simple Stamps

It's Mother's Day!! Wishing a happy and healthy day to all my mom friends around the world!!

Today I have a card for you! It's a little out of my comfort zone because of the large bold background print on the base card from Micheals. Of course it all started with the beautiful lady outline sticker from Elizabeth Crafts. I made my own glitter paper using Sookwang tape, Stampendous mixed media cardstock and warm diamond glitter. The focal is perched on a beautiful nestabilities die cut from Sizzix.

I colored the focal with black and red Copic markers and fussy cut the scene. The bow and the white section of her skirt are 3D - popped up on foam tape. The burlap ribbon from The Paper Studio seemed to break up the pattern and bring focus to the focal.

The internal sentiments are from Clear and Simple Stamps in Versafine Ink. Thanks for stopping by!

I was very fortunate to receive the digi
Hello magnolia by Ching-Chou Kuik!

It's a beautiful image with lots of hair (my arch nemesis!) I had fun learning where to put the highlights and low lights. I am sure you cannot guess what I colored with! Wink of Stella!!!

Here's a better look at the subtle shimmer you get with Wink of Stella brush pens. They have a limited color palate but I was able to layer colors to create deeper shades and to blend colors. I have never tried this technique with Wink and I was so happy with the results.

Wink does not yet have skin tones so I did use a Copic to color her skin with minimal blending. The rest of the CAS card came together rather quickly.

Supplies:
  • Stampendous mixed media cardstock (digi printed on...)
  • We R Memory Keepers - inked rose (Card base)
  • Live for today: dollar tree (sentiment)
  • simple stories say cheese - layers
  • wink of stella brush pens
  • Copic Marker E11
  • Scotch ATG

On with my project!!!!

I was given the cutest digi called Jordan Rock Star by Kith and Kin Stamp Co. I decided to decorate a 5" x 7" flip top notebook with the image.

I started by reducing the image and printing with the economy setting. I didn't want a heavy harsh line as I colored Jordan in. Where I needed darker lines I traced with a black Copic multiliner 0.3 for more contrast.

Since Jordan is a rock star I decided to give his skin an edgy, grundge look by shading with a BV00 Copic. I also used a real jeans swatch soaked in colorless blender to give his jeans an authentic stonewashed look. Once I fussy cut him out, I ran a black Copic along the white edges of the paper to color them. That makes it look like I cut him out perfectly.

Here's a look at the whole notebook. Using a card front from DCWV and scraps I created this notebook cover. I was inspired by this pin on Pinterest. However, the addition of wood veneers made me very happy. I inked one with Distress ink and covered in glossy accents and I covered the remaining two wood veneers in coordinating scraps.

The Cricut cuts were made using my Cricut Explore and design space. I believe the notes and stars were from Hannah Montana cartridge. I decided to try my hand at some rock star lettering. LOL! Well, I think that makes this work of art a definite original.

I love the definition and style of this notebook and I believe it will make a little boy very happy.

Supplies:
  • Jordan Rock Star digi by Kith and Kin Stamp Co.
  • 5"x 7" kraft cover notebook from Dollar Tree
  • Stampendous Mixed Media Cardstock
  • DCWV card front - Boyhood box of cards
  • Bo Bunny - Mama-Razzi shutter cardstock

Tutorial Video - Copic-blended Outline Sticker - Dazzles from Hot off the Press

You asked, so I created my first video tutorial on how to create your own glitter paper using Elizabeth Crafts warm diamond glitter. I also show you how to apply outline stickers and shade like a rock star with Copics. Please share this lil ditty and subscribe to my YouTube channel (pretty please)?!?

I sweat hard to make this video. I called Apple and was on the phone 2 hours. I then went to the apple store for an hour training. Finally I figured out how to use iMovie and will make many more videos.

Tune in next time for the project I create using this cute lil chick!
