Awesome, Adventurous ME - Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #17 B.A.B.Y.

Like most scrapbookers, I am the family photographer. That means that most of the time, I am not featured in many pictures. And, I usually focus on highligting the kids and other family members. Therefore it was a challenge to create a layout just about me for the Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #17. I had to include at least 2 cuts from my cricut machines and include B.A.B.Y. - Brads, Aqua, Butterfly, You as the subject.
My submission includes cuts from my Cricut Imagine Carts - Best Friends and Imagine More Cards as well as my Cricut Cartridge Cuttin Up. A lot more goodies from my stash are included as well. My goal was to enter the challenge because every week I always find some excuse. I am glad that I made it in just before the deadline. Whatever the outcome, I am proud of my courage and determination this week.

Happy Birthday Challenge MY Pink Stamper

My Favorite crafter My Pink Stamper celebrated a birthday recently and as a present to herself she issued a challenge to make a birthday item. I decided to make a birthday layout of my son's 1st birthday. He'll be 2 in two weeks (time flies). Jolee's felt stickers , paper from my stash, creative memories custom cutting system, and gold stickers bought from a craft fair all add to the charm of the layout.

Flip cards from Repeat Impressions (and Me!)

Last year I attended a scrapbooking fair and found these kits to make flip cards. I also bought 3 of the flip card stamp sets to go with the kits. Although I love the way these came out, they are going into several sets of cards I am selling to a friend who will give them as gifts for teacher appreciation week. Check out http://www.repeatimpressions.com/ for more info and directions on how to make these cards without a kit as well.

I used two embossing folders - swiss dots from cuttlebug and square lattice from sizzix (bought via stampin up!). Ribbon from my stash and handwriting with zig millenium pen in pure brown (indicating "pull"). My new ink is amazing! Memories Direct 24 Double-Tip Daubers from hsn.com makes stamping a breeze! I was able to get ink on just the image and not the edges. They come in a set of 24 and are nestled in a locking carry box.
Here's a video of the flip cards in motion...

Comments please???!!!

MPS First Blog Hop - Challenge Submission - Birthday Card

My favorite crafter My Pink Stamper did her first blog hop and introduced a challenge. This is my submission. I made this layered birthday card and coordinated envelope from the Wild Card Cricut Cart at 5 1/4 inches. I used bazzil cardstock in pink and blue. I love this cardstock because it is really sturdy. I used the d'vine swirl cuttlebug embossing folder to bring more definition to the frosting. I think it created a great effect with the glitter cardstock. I also added pink bling. I used a clear stamp from my stash and blue ink for the sentiment. I used my favorite glitter glue, stickles in yellow for the flame. I also used a copics marker to color in the envelope. How do you like it?

Happy Birthday Zora! Invitations made with Cricut Imagine

My daughter turns 6 today and I decided to create her party invites and decor using the Cricut Imagine. The basic design was taken from the suggestion on the first page of the best friends handbook. To continue with the theme, I made thank you cards, cupcake decorations and cake decorations. I'll post those pictures after the party. The paper I used is from Die Cuts With a View nana's nursery. They have a boy and a girl version of the same cardstock. More later...

Interactive Spinner Card

I created this thank you card using Die Cuts With A View card base and a spinner card top layer from Repeat Impressions http://www.repeatimpressions.com/. By placing a circular foam adhesive dot between two pennies and attaching an image on top, the image spins from side to side on the card. Love it! I inlcuded an unedited video of the card in motion. I also used a stamped sentiment from Stampin Up. The little African woman is a stamp I purchased at a craft fair. I used the cuttlebug and swiss dots dry embossing folder to add dimension. I am in love with the martha stewart punch around the page punches. I used it along the trim to add interest. The thank you ribbon was from my stash bought at AC Moore. Hope you enjoyed it!

Hmmm... pooh card

To brighten a friend's day who was on bedrest, I made this card from the Diseney Pooh & Friends Cricut cartridge and card stock, paper, ribbon, stamps and eyelets from my stash. I used my Zig millenium pen to accentuate the cuts on pooh. On the inside of the card to ink the stamp in different colors I used product from Memories Direct. On HSN I purchased a set of 24 double tipped ink daubers. It's perfect for adding multicolored stamp images to your projects. The stamp on this inside of the card is from Repeat Impressions http://www.repeatimpressions.com/. It's part of a 2 stamp swing card set. I did not ink the whole message so that I could write in my own message. Hope you like it! Please let me a comment below.

Teacher Christmas Gifts - Homemade Christmas Three

Here are a few more of the Teacher gifts. I used the Cricut Cartridge wild card and the cricut expression die cutting maching from Provocraft. It can be difficult to decide how to create the cards and envelopes at the right size. I used an online guide to help me create everything at the correct size. Most envelopes are cut using the fit-to-page function. Write down the size that flashes across the screen just before the cutting begins. Set the size of the card based on the size that the envelope cut at and it will fit the envelope.
I like to add ribbon to my cards to give it an extra special look. Double - sided card stock gives the cards and envelopes a more coordinated and finished look. One of the brands used is called coordinations. It has a dark color on one side and a light color on the other. When distressed or embossed, ripped etc. the light color shows on the dark side for a great effect as well.
I've started playing with colors and patterns in a new way (for me). I have been traditional in the past and more afraid of mixing too much color or too many patterns. I'm trying to be more courageous with color and pattern selections. Tomorrow I will post my favorite card of the bunch!

Teacher Christmas Gifts - Homemade Christmas Too

Today, I wanted to share more of the cards I made for the teachers. No 2 packs were the same. I'm so pleased with this work. But now I have to top it next time.

I used the Cricut Cartridge wild card and card stock from the following brands: Die Cuts With a View, Bazzill, Coordinations and other interesting papers. I used stickles glitter glue in crystal to give the "o happy day" card a little bling and I added various sizes of bling to the flower card envelope. The opaque white pen I used for the doodling on the flower card is from inkssentials. More tomorrow....

Teacher Christmas Gifts - Homemade Christmas

And then there were 8! I'm so glad to have more followers today than yesterday! Ok so on to the crafting!

I have a bit of an obsession with collecting Cricut cartidges. I have so many that I have not really dug into what each has to offer. As a challenge to myself, I set out to make every card on the Cricut wild card cart (one of my favs!)

What started out as a cool idea to learn about a cart and to create a card stash became gifts for my children's teachers. I decided to create 5 to 7 unique blank cards to give to each teacher for their personal use throughout 2011. Sounds reasonable right?

Although this labor of love was time consuming, I was really feeling good about it. Then I got worried... I was trying to thank the teachers by giving them a gift that they would not untimately keep. What kind of gift is that??? I was pleasantly surprised that everyone went nuts over the cards. I discovered it's the kind of gift that keeps on giving. Our family gives to theirs and they can share it with those they love and receive love back. priceless and not the run of the mill gift.

While I didn't take a picture of all of the cards, I did snap a few of my favorites. How do you like them? I packaged the cards in a cello bag and topped it with a card I made using another favorite Cricut cartridge -create a critter. The sentiment "Joy" is cut from Cricut Cartridge joys of the season.

Happy New Year! - Goody Gumdrops Card

I am greatful for my 5 faithful followers. I hope to grow this number in the coming months and to be more consistent with my posts. So hang in there with me and bring your friends (please?!).

I am loving my cricut imagine machine! It makes crafting on the fly so easy! I created this card with the Just Because Cards cricut cartridge. I was able to print everything you see using 2 pieces of white cardstock! I used the colors in the Imagine. Although you cannot see it, there are a few gumdrops that are raised with mini popdots.
If you are thinking about buying the cart, there is a trick to which cards actually fit in which envelopes. I was able to find a great guide on another blog. check out http://www.creationswithchristina.com/ for a video series and to download a guide for this cart.
